JEFF JOHNSTON
FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Jeff was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is the President and co-owner of Premier Investments of Iowa, Inc. a wealth management firm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

​

Jeff graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in finance. He is the host of the Premier Financial Hour radio show which has aired for over 11 years on Newsradio 600WMT in Eastern Iowa. 

​

After the death of his oldest son, Seth, in 2016, Jeff became an advocate for substance abuse and addiction. Shortly after, he joined the board of the Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC)  in Iowa. 

​

Jeff frequently speaks for groups, schools, and organizations to spread awareness about substance abuse. In 2020, Jeff founded Choices Network, Ltd. a non-profit designed to continue his fundraising and awareness efforts.

Dan Walterman
Vice President

Dan Walterman, a native Iowan, is the President and Co-Owner of Premier Health Insurance of Iowa.  A business that he founded over 20 years ago, and has been featured in numerous journals, newspapers, television stations and other news sources. 

 

Having an inside view of the struggles of addiction, Dan was eager to join the Choices Network, Ltd., and advocate for those in need. Helping those with addictions is something that is near and dear to him.  Dan considers time with his wife and children more important than all else.  However, when not with his family you may find him with a backpack on traveling the world or diving in shipwrecks and caves.

Kenyon Murray
Secretary

Kenyon Murray is a native of Battle Creek, Michigan and came to the University of Iowa to play basketball in 1992. In 1997, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. 


Currently, Kenyon is a Regional Endodontic Specialist for Komet USA, LLC. Kenyon resides in Cedar Rapids with his wife Michelle and their children Demetrius (25), Kristopher (19), Keegan (19) and McKenna (14).

Molly Nordlocken
Treasurer

Molly Nordlocken is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and came to Iowa to attend the University of Iowa where she graduated in 2013 with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Sports Studies. Molly is currently the Media & Events Coordinator at Premier Investments of Iowa, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In addition to her work with the Choices Network, Ltd., Molly currently serves as the Co-Chairperson for Linn County TRIAD, an organization that focuses on senior safety in Eastern Iowa. When not volunteering, Molly enjoys photography and spending time with friends and family.

Doug Wagner
Board Member

Doug Wagner has worked in radio for over 30 years. Radio is his first love and he was blessed to find her again. In his other lives, he's worked at Press Secretary for the Chairman of the Committee on Banking and Financial Services for the US House of Representatives, as the Chief of Staff for the Mayor and Executive Assistant for the City Council of Cedar Rapids, the President and CEO of a non-profit housing agency, and he is a member of numerous boards of directors across the Corridor.

Doug loves his sports, especially the Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Pirates. He's run numerous political campaigns and enjoys talking local, regional and national politics. The father of two boys, Doug is works the Iowa Football post game beat, is a Fox News Channel Contributor as well as a Correspondent for NBC News Radio.

The Youth Ambassador is a non-voting position on the board.

Roman Johnston
Youth Ambassador
Prairie High School Class of 2022

At 13 years old, Roman Johnston was in 7th grade when his older brother, Seth, died from a heroin overdose. Living with addiction and substance abuse within a family can greatly influence a child's transformation into adulthood. Roman has focused on positive growth throughout his process of grief. His interests in wrestling, gardening, and music have allowed him creative outlets during this time.

 

With a 3.9 GPA as a sophomore at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, he has shown perseverance in the face of adversity. As a Youth Ambassador for the Choices Network, Ltd. Roman will gather more information on substance abuse issues at the high school level and work as a liaison between adults and adolescentsIn 2020 he, along with friends, will perform a benefit concert raising funds for the Choices Network, Ltd.
